Three billion dollars worth of investments in public and private sector projects have either been recently completed, are under construction, or are in the planning stages, including over $835 million of completions since 2008. The 2009 Downtown Raleigh Alliance Annual Report provides a great update on economic development, marketing, membership, and what makes downtown Raleigh a great place in which to invest.
The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is excited to be spearheading a Retail Strategy and Implementation Program. The main goal of the program is to develop a retail vision to support existing retailers and engage new retailers that will strategically position the core business district as a shopping destination. The Retail Market Analysis and Positioning Strategy provides a thorough report of the structure of the program, detail information about several consumer groups, as well as a "road map" of recommendations for implementing the program.
The City of Raleigh is developing the next comprehensive plan, Planning Raleigh 2030. Learn more about the process, policies, and actions being recommended for downtown Raleigh. The City of Raleigh Planning Department is responsible for the content of the plan.
